Sublimation vs cut and sew: which construction is right for your team?

August 28, 2026

Two phrases come up constantly when clubs order custom kit: full sublimation and cut and sew. They are not the same thing, and the right choice depends on your design and budget.

Full sublimation

Colour and graphics are dyed into the fabric before the garment is assembled. There is no weight or texture added, nothing to crack or peel, and no limit on colours or gradients. It is the best option for complex, edge-to-edge designs.

Cut and sew

Panels are cut from different fabrics or colours and stitched together, often combined with sublimated panels, embroidery or applied numbers. It gives a structured, premium feel and lets you mix materials for fit and ventilation.

Most Tradeowesome team kits use a combination of both. Tell us your design in a quote request and we will recommend the construction that fits it.
